A failed circulator pump is easily replaced with the use of the shut-off valves as shown here. When a pump is removed from the manifold, the remaining pumps will still be filled with water due to a vacuum created by the water. Air needs to be purged only from the newly installed circulator pump! This can be done by loosening the corresponding flange bolts and slightly opening the appropriate shut-off valve.
